The athlete
The journey: from a table in Bauru to the Paralympic podium
Blount's disease, two Paralympics, 48 international medals and a seat on the boards that decide the future of the sport in Brazil.
Biography
Resilience as a method, not a slogan
Born in Bauru (SP), Claudio Massad has lived with Blount’s disease since childhood. In table tennis he found not a therapy but a career: he reached high performance, the Brazilian national team and the Paralympic podium.
With degrees in Law and Physical Education and an ITTF Level 1 coaching certification, he combines elite experience with academic training — which is why his talk speaks to management, not just to emotion.
In sport I found the drive to overcome and push past my limits. I am deeply grateful for my disability — it made me who I am today.
